The Presidency Club came into existence in 1929. At the time of its establishment the club had only 25 members but presently there are 1,830 members in the club. The club has gone through sea change since its establishment. The Presidency Club was established for people who wanted to socialize in British style. The club was shifted to its present base in 1937. To expand the club they brought the Fairlawns from the Zamindar of Kumaramangalam. Today The Presidency Club is place where people come to exchange ideas, views and socialize with each year.

The popular activities organized by The Presidency Club are picnics, tournaments and parties. Other facilities of the club include billiards, tennis, dining, cards and reading. The club also has two floors of well furnished, air conditioned rooms. While staying here the club offer 24 hour pantry service. One more feature of the club is that it has a swimming pool also. Evening parties are often held near the pool side. Recently many changes were made in the infrastructure of the club.
